First peek at Elder Scrolls Online Scalebreaker DLC & Update 23 Coming This August
As announced back at E3 last month,
Scalebreaker and Dragonhold are the final two pieces of DLC content for Elder Scrolls Online in 2019. The first of the two, Scalebreaker, will contain two PvE dungeons in Q3 with Dragonhold serving as a larger, narrative release in Q4.
Yesterday, The Elder Scrolls Online site has been updated with a brief preview of the new content coming in the Scalebreaker DLC and accompany Update 23. Both are due to release next month this August. The new dungeon DLC Scalebreaker includes 2 new PvE dungeons: Moongrave Fane and Lair Maarselok. Update 23 will be available to everyone for free.
The Scalebreaker DLC will soon be released in the Crown Store as a separate purchase. It is included in ESO Plus membership.
Here are the descriptions of each dungeon:
Scalebreaker dungeon DLC: Moongrave Fane and Lair of Maarselok
• Deep within the ancient ruins of
Moongrave Fane, a former member of the Dragonguard and his fellow vampires of the Hollowfang Clan have felled and captured a Dragon. However, they wish to do more than simply destroy the humbled beast, as the clan prepares a ritual to drain the Dragon of its blood and gain its terrible power!
• Neighboring Elsweyr, Grahtwood’s Elden Root tree is threatened by a deathly corruption that originates from the nearby jungles of Tenmar and the
Lair of Maarselok. Grahtwood’s protectors have tried and failed to destroy the Dragon at the center of the blight, so a truce has been called between the forest spirit Selene and her captor, the warlock Carindon. Together, and with your help, they must attempt to save the Elden Root tree before the corruption can spread.
In addition to Scalebreaker, which is a paid dungeon DLC, this August will also see Update 23 roll out for free to all Elder Scrolls Online players. Update 23 will be available to everyone for free. Update 23 includes the much-requested “multi-crafting” utility that allows players to craft, deconstruct, and refine multiple items at one time.
Update 23: quality-of-life improvements, fixes, and balance changes

Multi-bidding for Guild Trader locations
