MiHoYo technical director Zhenzhong Yi detailed the changes coming to Genshin Impact on April 28 in a PlayStation Blog post. Graphically, the PS5 will run the game at a native 4K resolution and will have a custom graphics library and file-loading system to effectively utilize its proprietary SSD. Future updates will further upgrade and optimize textures and features for PS5, including full utilization of the DualSense controller. Furthermore, fan-favorite location Qingyun Peak will be getting a facelift of sorts only available for the PS5 version of the game. What changes are coming to the location are for players to discover when the update launches, but a preview of the location is shown in a new PS5 gameplay trailer.
 
Speaking of the graphics library, this lets the game offer more detail. Yi shared that the high-resolution texture of the surroundings can show players unique stories with tiny details. Meanwhile, the level of detail gives a truly impressive view of landmarks, near or far. Yi added that the PS5 can run the game at the highest setting in native 4K resolution, and those who own an HDR display can enjoy a more vibrant visual. The faster loading times of the PS5 also mean that players can experience a smoother adventure. This is especially true when moving through the open world with its changing landscapes. Plus, the customized file-loading system can decrease area transitions to mere seconds.
