INTRODUCTION TO COMPANIONS
Companion Equipment in Elder Scroll Online (ESO) contains all types of armor, weapons, and accessories specifically for your companions since they cannot equip your regular gears. Carefully select the right gear can greatly increase their prowess and provide you much help in your adventures. Once you unlock a Companion, they will start out with basic white quality non-traited equipment. Companion equipment doesn't have levels, can't be enchanted, doesn't require repairs, and doesn't include an inherent style appearance. You can purchase basic companion gear from a Weaponsmith, Woodworker, Armorer, Leatherworker, and Tailor merchants to customize the role of your companion accordingly. Companion gear also comes in 9 Unique Traits that further customize your Companion's Combat Role.
HOW TO GET COMPANSION GEAR IN ESO
Companion gear can drop from all enemies in the game, however, boss level enemies have the highest drop rate. This includes:
·Delve Bosses
·Public Dungeon Bosses
·Dolmen, Harrowstorm, Oblivion Portal and other “World Event” bosses
·World Bosses
·Normal and Veteran Group Dungeon Bosses
·Normal and Veteran Trial Bosses
To obtain Companion Gear from any of these bosses all you need to do is get credit for particpating in the kill which normally results in a loot drop. Typically you need to do some damage to the boss in order to get loot to drop. In addition, you must also have a Companion Summoned and with you at the time the loot drops. This is a MUST! No Summoned Companion means NO LOOT! White companion equipment can be purchased from Weaponsmiths, Woodworkers, Armorers, Leatherworkers, and Tailor merchants throughout the world, allowing the player to customize the companion role accordingly and to whatever they want. Fine (green), superior (blue) and epic (purple) quality companion equipment with traits are obtained randomly from all kinds of monsters, such as Overland enemies, Worldbosses, World Events etc. Especially Mehrunes Dagon’s Deadlands (Oblivion Portals) seem to drop companion gear from the bosses.
