There is a new Mode of May event in Rocket League, which begins on the 1st of May, and will feature a different extra game mode every weekend from Thursday until the following Monday. In this short article, we are going to introduce everything we know about this Limited Time Modes.

 
 

Psyonix confirmed a few more practical details regarding the modes:
“Each mode will begin at 9 a.m. PDT (4 p.m. UTC) on their respective launch days, and will end at 9 a.m. PDT (4 p.m. UTC) on their end dates. Like other Limited Time Modes, each mode will be Unranked and found in a separate tab in the Play Online menu. They will also grant the same amount of XP as all other Online Playlists, so you’ll still Tier Up your Rocket Pass 6 level as usual.”
 
The event kicks off with Dropshot Rumble, combining the power-up items from Rumble with the precise gameplay of Dropshot, surely resulting in some hilarious moments. This is a brand new mode that combines the very best of Rocket League’s existing Extra Modes, creating a new proving ground for the game’s RNG Champs and Floor Destroyers.
 
The next weekend will see the return of Rocket League’s Beachball mode, which was debuted during last summer’s Radical Summer event. This mode is much like standard Soccar, except the ball is replaced with an incredibly light and bouncy beach ball that curves and hangs in the air.
 
The third weekend in May will focus on a game mode called Boomer Ball. In the game mode Rumble there is a power-up called Boomer which makes the ball rocket through the air at an abnormal amount of speed. However, we don’t really know what that means since Psyonix came out with a statement saying that more on that game mode will be revealed as we get closer to that weekend. So as far as what kind of mode that will be, that will be revealed in the next couple weeks. The Boomer Ball game mode will be available from May 14th through May 18th.
 
And finally, Heatseeker will already make its return to Rocket League. Introduced just last month, the mode quickly proved extremely popular, as many a fan and professional player called out Psyonix to make it an official ranked game mode. They didn’t quite get their wish, but at least they get to play it again. This mode sees the ball lock onto the opponents’ goal, increasing in speed with every touch. Be careful, though: Hitting the opponents’ backboard also sets it off towards your own goal. It turned out to be an extremely fun game mode with hilarious (and impressive) highlights from many Rocket League content creators.
