What are the Card Decks in Lost Ark?

Cards in Lost Ark are Roster-wide collectables that are acquired from a vast number of places all over the world. They can be acquired through packs, rewards from rapport quests, or as rare drops from dungeons and raids.

 

When you get a card, it’s placed into your inventory initially. Once you use the card, it’ll be added to your Card Catalogue that you can access through pressing Alt + C. From there, you can see your Card Catalogue split into three different tabs: Equip, Books, and Enhance.

 

Card Decks are loadouts comprised of various cards that grant offensive and defensive buffs. The more cards from the same set you have equipped in your deck, the more buffs you'll receive. You can only have six cards equipped at a time. Similar to your standard weapons and armor, you can create and swap between card loadouts to suit your current needs.

 

Additionally, cards are also tied to Card Books that grant permanent stat increases when filled. Card Book bonuses are always active, even if you aren't using cards from that set. Card Sets are only active while they're allocated into your Card Deck—accessed by pressing "Alt + C" by default. Not every card is in a Card Set, but every card is part of a Card Book. In other words, you can't equip every card, but each card is part of a book that can increase your character's stats.

 

How to Build Powerful Card Sets in Lost Ark

Once we’ve found the set we want, we can further improve the set bonus by leveling our cards and then upgrading to level 5. We level cards to the next level by sacrificing other cards. This is how we collect upgrade points. Ideally, we’ll do this with duplicate cards that we don’t need. But there are also special upgrade cards for this purpose. The higher the rarity of a card, the more experience points it grants.

 

If we have collected enough upgrade points, we still need a lot of silver for the upgrade. However, the complete upgrade is still not complete. We still need identical cards for the revival itself. Enhancing requires a certain amount of XP per card, with higher rarities requiring more overall. Once you’ve fed a card enough XP, you must then use up duplicates to make it reach the next awakening level. As you increase the level further, even more duplicates will be required. This is where the main grind sets in, especially for cards only earned via card packs.
