How to Plant A Data Scraper on An IO Airship in Fortnite

First, you should notice the blimp locations dotting the map. Since you can see them clearly on the map before you drop in, mark one and head straight for it at the start of the game. It will likely be a popular position to land, so you may need to pick one further from the Battle Bus’ trajectory.

 

Once you land on top of the blimp, you should head toward the tail end. When you’re facing the back of the blimp, approach from the right side so the tail is on your left. A panel will appear that you can interact with for a few seconds. That will allow the Resistance to access the blimps without the IO knowing about it.

 

Once players have located an IO Airship floating in the sky, there are a number of ways to board them. Of course, a simple drop from the battle bus will suffice, but if you've already landed there will need to be an alternative method.

As shown below, you can plant the device on any one of the six airships at named locations. The tail of these ships is the side that holds a ramp with wings on it. Once you’re near the tail, look for a screen that it is emitting a white light from the side of the ship. This is where you will be planting the Data Scraper. To install the device, just press the same button you use to switch to your pickaxe.

 

After you reach the top of the airship, head towards its tail. There you can find a glowing silhouette of a data scraper. Hold the interact button to place the device, and the quest is complete. It doesn’t matter which airship you plant the data scraper on, but planting on the airship near the Daily Bugle is better because it is near one of the IO’s cloaked build jammer locations.

 

You can place the device on any of the six aircraft. The tail is the side that holds a winged ramp. When you reach the queue, you will have to look for a screen with a white light on the side of the ship. It is there where you will have to place the Data Scraper.

 

Press the button to interact with the Data Scraper and the challenge will be completed, unlocking 40,000 XP towards the battle pass.
