Rocket League New Car: James Bond’s iconic Aston Martin DB5 comes to Rocket League
There is a good news that you will get a new car in a limit time, which is the James Bond's Aston Martin DB5. It arrives in the Item Shop on July 29th, and it will ends on August 4th. Anyone who wants to get this car in inventory, please grasp the time!
007's iconic Aston Martin DB5 first appeared in Goldfinger in 1964, and has since become known as Jamie B's favourite spymobile, appearing again in movies like GoldenEye, The World Is Not Enough, Casino Royale, Skyfall (in which it was blown up by the bad guys), and Spectre. It's also been immortalised in LEGO, and the GoldenEye DB5 currently lives in the London Film Museum, as the second most famous car in the UK, after Brum.
Until August 4th, you'll be able to snag the 1963 model of the car, along with a DB5 paint finish (which is designed to look like Aston Martin's signature Silver Birch color), engine audio, wheels and decal. Given the Bond movies' focus on gadgetry, something about firing up the rocket boosters to score a goal with the DB5 seems just right.
This won't be a one-and-done deal for James Bond in Rocket League, either. More content related to the legendary superspy is in the pipeline. Developer Psyonix struck a multi-year deal with MGM and Aston Martin.
The Rocket League DB5 will cost 1,100 credits, or roughly $10. It will come with “007’s Aston Martin DB5 Paint Finish (which resembles the signature Silver Birch color of the Aston Martin), Aston Martin DB5 Engine Audio, Aston Martin DB5 Wheels, and a Reel Life Decal,” according to a press release.
Bond has had dozens of cars throughout his many film appearances, but the Aston Martin DB5 is easily the one most associated with him, first debuting in Goldfinger, and then making appearances in Thunderball, GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, Casino Royale, Skyfall, Spectre, and the upcoming No Time To Die.
It has also been in several Bond video games over the years, from 2000s game 007 Racing to 2010's Blood Stone, and was drivable in Forza Horizon 4's Best of Bond DLC.
Developer Psyonix added that the DB5's appearance marks the start of a multi-year collaboration between it, MGM, and Aston Martin, and that more James Bond content will be coming in the future. In other Rocket League news, Psyonix has announced the rewards that will be given to Season 3's ranked players when the current period of competition ends.
